Our Impromptu Team

About Impromptu

Impromptu is a way to relax and enjoy competing in debate without having to worry about prepping and wondering who you're going to compete against in the next round. It's an outlet to express opinions and tell stories to people who you otherwise wouldn't talk to. Competing in this event helps improve speaking ability and the capacity to connect ideas together quickly. All together, these skills help greatly in daily life.

Adrian Sucahyo, Co-Impromptu Captain

Talking About Impromptu

My name is Adrian Sucahyo, and I am the co-captain for Impromptu for the 2021-2022 debate season! Impromptu is a wonderful, creative, and fun event that is great for pretty much everyone, and the experience gained is something important for the future. The ability to speak in a more public setting comfortably is something that is valuable beyond just debate, but to other groups and activities. I am involved in the administration for other clubs such as MESA, and being able to speak comfortably is something that I feel that I can attribute to my time in Impromptu. I will be assisting our team with the required practice, and hope that this year we can help our Impromptu Team flourish and succeed.

David Sun, Co-Impromptu Captain

Talking About Impromptu

My name is David Sun, and I truly think that speaking is for everyone. Impromptu is the foundation of every successful presenter, negotiator, and speaker. I’ve personally been involved in clubs like DECA and FBLA, but regardless of your interests, impromptu will always be a great option for you! This year, I’ll personally ensure that everyone who joins will get the attention and practice they need in order to feel comfortable giving an impromptu speech.
